Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure!
July 2011: The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure! Team SIGNET returned to this event for a third year with nine walkers and five crew members! This was an amazing and inspirational three day, 60-mile walk that helps mothers, sisters, spouses, and friends get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. We camped for 3 days with thousands of other walkers and crew members who are devoted to find a cure for Breast Cancer. We shared many laughs, smiles, and tears throughout our 60-mile journey through Boston. Last year we were able to raise over $25k and this year we raised over $28k! Team SIGNET is very proud to be a part of such a life changing cause that so many of us are affected by today. You can count on it - Team SIGNET is signed up for 2012! Veterans Cruise in Quincy
July 2011: Veterans Cruise in Quincy SIGNET’s Donna Kenawy and Kelly Peckham volunteered at the Veterans Cruise in Quincy, which took place at the Old Colony Yacht Club. Some of these men and women are hospital bound and very rarely have a chance to leave the hospital. Before the event itself, we collected a few boxes of donated goods from employees. Veterans received a breakfast at the club, a cruise on the water, then a luau lunch party after. It was a beautiful day for a cruise!

Arthritis Foundation
May 2011: One in four people in Massachusetts has doctor-diagnosed “arthritis.” This group spans all ages, genders and races. Arthritis is an umbrella term used to group more than 100 inflammatory medical conditions. Each arthritis sufferer can gain a wealth of knowledge regarding arthritis treatment, care and prevention from the Arthritis Foundation.
On Sunday, May 15th, a team of SIGNET employees, friends, pets and family participated in the walk to help the fight against arthritis. Once again, Stephen’s Field in Plymouth, MAwas the location for opening ceremonies and post-walk festivities. Bringing awareness and encouraging people to move to prevent and treat arthritis was a key objective to this walking event. SIGNET’s involvement in past years has been exemplary. MS New England
May 2011: SIGNET’s Ed Crino has joined up with the Special K’s as they walk in Gardner, MA to aid research efforts in finding a cure and joining the movement to create a world free of Multiple Sclerosis.
Every hour of every day, someone is diagnosed with MS. The astonishing rate is not going to slow down, let alone stop, until a cure is found. Research has made some incredible advances recently, but the world can still only offer disease management drugs and therapies to the 400,000 people living with MS in America.
The primary goal of Walk MS was to raise funds to help people who have MS, and their families, through education, support, advocacy, services, and research. Ed was committed to go the distance of 6 miles when the walk kicked off Sunday morning May 1stat Gardner High School. For more information plesae visit www.MSnewengland.org. |
